Codec / Endec: What are they?
1 June 2009 Rob @ 2:10 am

A codec is a program for encoding or decoding digital data streams or a digital signal.
Endec (encoder/decoder) is similar but mainly used as hardware (computer component) in all computers. Some video clips you can download from the web require a codec to play correctly. Codecs can be downloaded directly from the microsoft website.
