While browsing the net I came across a nifty application to set your own website as a desktop icon.
If you use Firefox go too http://prism.mozilla.com/started/ and download Prism Firefox Extension. Once it’s installed load up your chosen website and click Tools -> Convert Website to Application. Under ‘Desktop Shortcuts’ tick Desktop -> Start Menu -> Launch and Ok. Close Firefox and open the new application on your desktop. You will need to login again but now your chosen website is forever stored on your desktop where it can be accessed by the click of your mouse.
